Direct School Admission – Secondary Exercise (DSA-Sec)
INTRODUCTION
Peicai Secondary School (PCSS) welcomes eligible Primary Six students for Secondary One admission in 2025 with talents in various areas to apply for Direct School Admission to Secondary One.
WHY APPLY FOR DSA TO PCSS
In PCSS, we focus on the holistic development of our students via the provision of the Peicai Experience. The school strongly believes that both passion for learning and strength of character are critical components in nurturing our students to be future ready.
Our CCAs and Student Leadership Programme offer a multitude of vibrant as well as exciting opportunities for students to pursue their passion and enhance their knowledge skills as they develop 21st Century Competencies.

Our Sports and Games have been making steady progress with the most recent achievement being the school’s Volleyball Boys achieving South Zone Top 4 Placing in 2023 Our Basketball C Division Boys team have also qualified for the second round of the South Zone National Schools Games 2023 tournament Our Softball Boys and Girls C Division teams are ranked 6th and 8th at the respectively at the national rounds of National Schools Games 2023 |

Our Uniformed Groups (UGs) have been performing very well over the past years. As of 2024, our Girl Guides, NCC and NPCC units have been consistently achieving the Distinction Awards in the unit competitions for 7and 6 years respectively. The UGs develop our students’ leadership potential in various ways. Our UG students are regularly given opportunities to lead, which in turn developing them into independent and confident leaders of character. |

SELECTION PROCESS BY THE SCHOOL
All shortlisted applicants will be notified via email from 24 June 2024 onwards to attend an interview and or a trial/audition (only applicable to sports and performing arts) that would be conducted between 24 June 2024 and 9 September 2024.
Students who are shortlisted to attend the interview/trial/audition are to report to the school’s General Office where the teacher overseeing the DSA Exercise will meet the students to provide further instructions.
The assessment criteria for the different talent areas are as follows:
Sports & Games · knowledge of game rules · in-game decision-making skills · passion, commitment and interest in game |

Uniformed Groups · understanding of being in uniformed groups, · passion, commitment and interest in the uniformed groups. |
Leadership · understanding of leadership, · reflection of their past leadership experiences. |
Applicants under DSA-Sports may be required to demonstrate some sport-specific performance tasks during the trial while applicants under DSA-Performing Arts may be required to perform a short skit based on the script provided during the audition, or a dance performance of their speciality genre.
Please note that the meeting of specified criteria does not guarantee the student will be shortlisted or given an offer.
RELEASE OF OUTCOME OF DSA-SEC EXERCISE
All applicants would be informed of the selection outcome by 13 September [i.e., Confirmed Offer (CO), Wait List (WL) or Unsuccessful]
Applicants given CO are guaranteed admission only if they
· Indicate the school during School Preference Submission (21 Oct – 25 Oct 2024)
· Qualify for an academic course offered by the school (i.e. G3, G2, G1) based on PSLE results
DSA-Sec allocation results will be released through Primary Schools together with PSLE result.
Please note that students successfully allocated to their DSA-Sec schools are NOT allowed to participate in the annual S1 Posting Exercise to opt for secondary schools and are expected to honour the commitment to the allocated DSA-Sec school for the entire duration of the programme. They will also NOT be allowed to transfer to another school after the release of the PSLE results.
Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from year 1-4.
Successful DSA (Leadership) students can expect to be appointed as a Student Councillor in Secondary 1 where they will serve and lead the student body while acquiring key leadership competencies.
Successful DSA (Sports) students have the option of being admitted into the school’s talent development programme for sports, PinnaCle@Sports when they are in Secondary 2, subject to students’ attendance, active participation in the assigned CCA and conduct grade. A distinctively Peicai initiative, the PinnaCle@Sports Programme provides students with the exposure to a broad base of sports curriculum, with activities such as learning journeys to National Youth Sports Institute, in-school clinic held by former National Athletes, and participation in other sports not offered in our school as a CCA.
